Here are some tips to optimize your articles that will help them to be ranked higher within the search engines through the use of keywords in your articles.
- Pick one keyword or phrase that you wish to target.
- The Keyword or phrase needs to be used five or more times in the article.
- Underline, italic & Bold the phrase or keyword at least twice.
- Use of the keyword or phrase in the header, first paragraph and the last paragraph.
- Make sure that the keyword or phrase is used in the link back to your website.
The keyword or phrase is critical to your success. Do not target keywords that have over one million searches. Make sure your key word or phrase has in the region of 600,000 or less.
Make sure that the use of underline, italic & bold is adhered to but remember make sure that you do not overdo, it can damage your ranking more than it can help.
The above rule also applies to the keyword or phrase. Do not use these more than 10 times in any article, 5 to 6 times is probably ideal.
At the end of every article there is a box provided usually called “about the author”, in this box you’ll want to leave a sales pitch along with the link back to your site. Do not make this too long one or two sentence’s is usually suffice and always end with a call to action.
An example of the headline and the author box with the keyword ‘Home business is’ is laid out below.
Home Business – How A Home Business Could Help You To Retire Early.
The structure of the heading would be for similar to above. The ‘home business’ at the start is in bold.
The content will obviously depend on your topic. To help with the structure the use of numbered bullet points can help and you could then change the headline to read as below.
Home Business – 4 Reasons To Run A Home Business.
- Developing a Home Business could help you to retire early.
- Running a Home Business could give you extra security by making you less reliant on your salary.
- Ect………
The author’s box should contain something similar to below:
